Scalable IT, enabling seamless connectivity between sites, backup protection, and extended support for warehouse operations.
Domu Brands, a UK-based company specialising in product design and internet retail, operates from a large Manchester headquarters and a 100,000 sq. ft. distribution centre. With 150 employees and extended warehouse operations running from 6am to 10pm, seven days a week, the business needed a robust IT infrastructure to support logistics software, enable seamless access to resources across both sites, and manage a growing IT estate.
Additional requirements included a fully outsourced IT function, comprehensive licensing management, and a resilient backup solution to protect critical data.
Novem worked closely with DOMU Brands and its software partners to deliver a scalable, integrated IT platform:
Novem implemented a modern IT platform designed to support DOMU Brands’ high-volume retail and logistics operations, ensuring resilience, scalability, and security across multiple sites.
The solution included a full migration to enterprise-grade server technology, integrated Windows services, and resilient site-to-site connectivity. A hosted backup platform with offsite replication was deployed alongside endpoint monitoring, delivering complete visibility and protection for all IT assets.
Following detailed consultation, Novem executed a phased migration to minimise disruption. Server refresh and connectivity upgrades were completed first, followed by backup and monitoring solutions to ensure continuity throughout the transition.
Downtime was kept to a minimum, with seamless data migration and staged implementation of connectivity and backup systems to maintain operational efficiency.
By consolidating IT services under a managed agreement, DOMU Brands achieved predictable monthly costs and reduced risk of downtime, improving overall efficiency and safeguarding business-critical operations.
The project delivered a robust, scalable IT infrastructure that supports DOMU Brands’ complex operations. All IT resources are now accessible from both business premises, ensuring seamless collaboration between the headquarters and distribution centre. Comprehensive asset tracking and licence management provide full visibility of hardware and software, while the managed backup solution offers peace of mind with hourly increments and offsite replication.
Extended support hours ensure warehouse operations remain fully covered, and proactive endpoint monitoring protects critical devices with early alerting mechanisms.
