The challenge

Unibox, a UK-based manufacturer of aluminium display systems for exhibitions, events, and large retail environments, needed to modernise its IT infrastructure to support growing business demands. The company required an upgrade from end-of-life systems to a modern platform, improved connectivity to handle cloud-based applications, and a robust business continuity solution with rapid recovery capabilities. With 90 employees and increasing reliance on digital systems, resilience and performance were critical.

Upgraded all business systems from end-of-life software to the latest versions, ensuring security and performance.

Installed a 1Gb leased symmetrical internet service with monitored Fibre-to-the-Cabinet backup for failover protection.

Overview

Novem implemented a modern IT platform designed to replace outdated systems, improve connectivity, and deliver robust continuity for a growing manufacturing business. With experience working alongside a number of manufacturing businesses and a director who worked in-house for a precision engineering firm, we have a great understanding of the unique problems a business in this space faces and how technology can be an enabler.

Technical Implementation

The solution included upgrading all systems to current versions, migrating email to Microsoft 365, and installing a high-speed leased line with failover connectivity. A business continuity platform was deployed alongside endpoint monitoring, ensuring complete protection and visibility.

Timeline & Process

Following a detailed consultation, Novem executed a phased migration to minimise disruption. System upgrades and email migration were completed first, followed by connectivity improvements and continuity measures.
