Novem updated The Land Trust’s IT with secure, modern infrastructure, and business continuity processes.
The Land Trust, a national charity dedicated to sustainable land management and green infrastructure, needed a trusted IT partner to strengthen its technology backbone. With 90 employees and a distributed operational model, the organisation required support for a major server upgrade, enhanced perimeter security, and a disaster recovery solution that could guarantee business continuity. Additional priorities included real-time monitoring, automated patching, and flexible overflow support during peak periods and staff absences.
Novem collaborated closely with The Land Trust’s internal IT leadership to deliver a tailored solution that combined infrastructure modernisation with proactive management:
Novem strengthened The Land Trust’s IT environment with a modern infrastructure upgrade, advanced security measures, and a comprehensive continuity strategy. It was important to bring the infrastructure up to a modern standard that not only supported but enhanced business operations.
The solution included a managed UTM firewall, endpoint monitoring with automated patching, and a disaster recovery platform featuring offsite replication and annual recovery testing. Overflow support was integrated to complement the internal IT team.
Following a detailed audit, Novem executed the infrastructure upgrade and security enhancements in phases, ensuring minimal disruption. Disaster recovery and monitoring solutions were deployed in parallel to maintain operational resilience.
The project was delivered with minimal downtime, thanks to careful planning and phased implementation.
Having new, reliable infrastructure on top of a business continuity process and platform meant the reduced possibility of incurring expensive downtime in business operations. Choosing a scalable backup product also allows the business to essentially pay for what they are using.
The Land Trust now operates on a secure, resilient IT foundation that supports its mission-critical systems and remote workforce. The upgraded server infrastructure delivers improved performance and scalability, while the managed firewall ensures robust perimeter protection. Automated patching and antivirus updates reduce security risks, and real-time monitoring provides complete visibility across all assets. With a disaster recovery solution capable of rapid restoration and a flexible support agreement in place, the organisation has achieved true business continuity and peace of mind.
